Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Per Se has featured in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants for its entire life. The East Coast satellite of Thomas Keller’s iconic French Laundry in Yountville, California, it represents the urban ideal of an American luxury restaurant offering a synthesis of culinary art and superlative service.
Per Se’s large dining room is unflashy, contemporary and elegant, with stained woods, stone and muted tones, and sweeping windows offering uninterrupted views of Columbus Circle and Central Park. The food is as understated yet immaculate as the décor. Menus embrace seasonality and show a witty playfulness that punctuates the confidence in the kitchen, now under the matured stewardship of Eli Kaimeh, who has been Per Se’s chef de cuisine since 2010.
Keller’s world-renowned signature dishes remain: oysters and pearls – a sabayon of pearl tapioca with oysters and caviar; or salad of Hawaiian hearts of peach palm. But Per Se’s nine-course Chef’s Tasting Menu of modern American cuisine with French influences (also available as a vegetarian menu) never stands still and dishes are constantly evolving.
An à la carte ‘salon’ menu is available in the front bar room, allowing diners to sample Per Se’s finest dishes, as well as a five-course dessert tasting menu created by pastry chef Elwyn Boyles. Opened in 2004, Per Se is Thomas Keller’s acclaimed New York interpretation of The French Laundry in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. Designed by Adam D. Tihany, Per Se features a serene and intimate environment with spectacular views of Central Park and Columbus Circle.
The restaurant is Chef Keller’s second three-Michelin-starred property featuring his daily nine-course tasting menu and a nine-course vegetable tasting menu using classic French technique and the finest quality ingredients available. An award-winning wine list, boasting more than 2,000 bottles, complements the menu. The list highlights a collection of older wines as well as wines from small producers that are released in limited quantities. Per Se is a member of French-based associated Relais & Chateaux, Relais Gourmands and Traditions & Qualité organizations, recognized for their dedication to maintaining the highest international standards for hospitality and culinary excellence.
For events with eight guests or more, we offer two private dining rooms. A dedicated event team will be on hand from the beginning of the planning until the time your guests depart.
Coordinating the details leading to a successful event can be stressful, and we bring attention to detail, care and hospitality to you throughout the process. Our goal is to create a unique and memorable event, tailored to your needs.
Whether you would like to entertain a select group of clients, host a large reception throughout the entire restaurant or bring the Per Se experience into your home, we offer a number of possibilities.
The East Room seats as many as 10 guests and offers stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and Central Park. A glass panel, adorned with silk drapes for total privacy, overlooks the restaurants’ main dining room. The tasting menu offered changes based on the freshest ingredients available to our chefs on the day of your event.
The West Room accommodates up to 60 guests for seated events or 100 guests for standing receptions. The room was designed to offer an elegant space reminiscent of a Parisian living room. The cream colored walls, horizontal mirrors in linear formations and mahogany furniture provide a soothing backdrop to any occasion. Audio-visual features are available. The room offers its own guest lobby area and private restrooms.
MAIN DINING ROOM
We offer the possibility of exclusive use of the restaurant for lunch or dinner. For larger parties, consider Per Se’s main dining room, which overlooks Central Park, or expand the use of the restaurant to all our private dining rooms for larger functions. Our salon area offers the perfect location for your pre-event standing reception.
For intimate dinner parties at home or other locations of your choice, we bring our chefs and service team to you, offering an opportunity to experience the restaurant virtually anywhere. Please note that due to the number of dedicated Per Se kitchen and service staff we will reserve for your offsite event, advance notice is required.
Our private dining team will work closely with you to customize a menu for your event. The menu is designed around your personal preference and seasonal ingredients. Several formats are offered ranging from four- to nine-course tasting menus. Our complete wine listwill be available for your review, and a dedicated sommelier will provide assistance in securing the event’s wine accompaniment.

We offer a nine-course Chef’s Tasting Menu and a nine-course Vegetable Tasting Menu, each priced at $310. A five-, seven- and nine-course menu are available during lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for $205, $245 and $310, respectively. Dinner reservations are available from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and lunch reservations from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Reservations are taken one month to the calendar date and can be made by calling our reservationists at212.823.9335. Our PRIVATE DINING ROOM can be reserved up to one year in advance.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate walk-in guests. Kindly note that jackets are required for both lunch and dinner service. Ties are optional. No t-shirts, shorts or tennis shoes please.
Guests are welcome to bring wines that are not represented on our wine list; we allow up to three bottles at the table for a fee of $150 per each 750ml bottle.
Per Se requires a credit card to secure your reservation. Your card will not be charged, it is simply held with respect to our 72-hour cancellation policy. Should you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, we do request a 3-day notice to avoid a $175 fee per guest.
